The Forth on a Sunday

This year the 4th of July fell on a Sunday. So that means no parades or big firework shows on Sunday. Which this year actually turned out okay. Saturday we went to the Riverdale parade with Ben and Jess. Before it started we all ran the Riverdale 5K. I was happy with running it because my time was a personal record of 22 minutes and 50 seconds. It was a nice run that was part on a trail, and I really enjoy running on trails. The parade was actually really nice, it wasn't too long and not too short. The kids got a lot of candy so that made them happy. Afterwards we walked over to the park where the carnival was and it was said they had free games for kids under age 11. We couldn't locate them so we let the kids just play in the splash pad and get all wet. We didn't have swim suits so they had to just go in their clothes. Addi of course does not like her clothes wet so she stripped down.

There were plenty of fireworks around town but I had to work and the kids were too pooped to go anywhere so we had to pass. Then Sunday we woke up and made our way to Richfield, UT. We usually try and make a trip down there in July. This year I thought I would run the 5K Richfield put on. I beat my time from two days before and ran it in 22 minutes 10 secs. Y0u wouldn't know it but Richfield is a pretty competitive city for running. The top runner was in at just over 16 minutes and the kids 1 mile fun run was completed in 5:55.

After the race (which I did alone with no one waiting at the end) was the parade. Our niece Hailey is a Cheerleader at the high school and they had a float. They allowed kids 4 and up to be on the float, get a T-shirt and have pom poms for a small fee. Bree is not 4 but close enough so we signed her up. She didn't get to collect candy at the parade but she had a blast sitting on the float waiving at everyone and shaking the pom poms.

That night we ended it with a Firework show that is quite impressive really. Richfield puts on an entertaining firework show. We took the kids this time and they all did good, except Jax. That kid has a GO button and no STOP. He wouldn't sit still and would get mad if you made him. It was so late putting him to bed that he cried himself silly and was in hysterics until late. He finally fell asleep due to physical exhaustion and not because he wanted to.

But all in all it was a good weekend. Fun 4th of July festivities and good times. We have one more weekend with Clinton City Heritage days then we will be about done with the parade/firework fun. So enjoy the photos. And on a side note, can you believe we had this much fun and didn't even see Eclipse? overrated!

Great Job on the 5k. Sounds like a good fourth of July. You children are all so cute!
